Circles of Gratitude - Powerful Exercise

Mar 11, 2018

Did you know that gratitude can significantly increase your happiness?

Is there some area of your life that you can be happier? Relationships, business, career, money, health?

Life is too short to not be happy. While you may not be happy all the time, you should be able to find happiness in all areas of life that you participate in, be it relationships, career, money, health or parenting.

Have you ever noticed how easy it is to move from a neutral or positive state to negative state? Bad driver on the road, someone pisses you off at work, your partner does or says something that irks you. We instantaneously move from a neutral or positive state to a negative one full of anger and rage.

Do you find it difficult to do the reverse, move from a negative state to a positive state in an instant? Gratitude can help.

Quickly changing your focusing from the incident or situation to your gratitude list can quickly shift you from a negative state to a positive state.

More than this, gratitude can quickly help you overcome challenges and move forward in all areas of your life. If your challenge is in relationships, money, career, business or parenting, gratitude will help tremendously.

Circles of Gratitude Exercise

I utilise three circles of gratitude. Think of it as three concentric circles.

The first circle is the Past, the next outer circle is the Present and the outermost circle is the FUTURE.

Let us pick one area of your life, money for example. You can apply to any area of your life – relationships, career, business, money, recreation, emotional and parenting.

Past Circle – be grateful for all the money you had in the past and what it was able to help you to do. Be grateful for the food that money was able to provide, be grateful for that time you had to go to the doctor and you had money for pay for it so you could feel better, be grateful for that vacation you were able to take and for the money you had to be able to afford it. Make is very personal to you and make it very specific.

Present Circle – be grateful for the money that you have NOW. Be grateful for the things money is providing for you NOW, money to afford the car you are currently driving, money to have the house you are living in right now so you have a roof over your head, money you have today to buy lunch, money you have today to send your children to school, money you have so you can take your parents on vacation. Make it personal to you and as exhaustive as possible. The longer your gratitude list, the happier you will be!

Future Circle – This is the game changer right here. Being grateful for the things that are yet to come not only increases your faith but it brings the things (money, relationships, career growth, business growth etc) FASTER! Make a list of the things your desire and be grateful for it like you already have it. Your goals should be in your Future Circle.

This is the toughest part for most people because most people don’t have goals and most people don’t have enough faith to be thankful for the things they do not have yet.

If you can do this, you will master life! Book a strategy call with me to ensure you have the RIGHT Goals for your life and build your belief and see your life take off!
